Introduction
Birthday Wish is the song NMIXX chose to open their sixth EP, Strange Muse, and it wastes no time making an impression. Released on 19 October 2026, the track — titled 긴 소원 in Korean — turns a birthday ritual into a story of heartbreak and renewal: a broken heart is laid to rest, a candle is lit, and a wish is made for a brand new chapter. The response was instant. Birthday Wish debuted at number 34 on the MelOn Top 100, the highest debut of NMIXX's career, and climbed to number 5 as the week went on.
On this page, Muxic Leaks brings you the Birthday Wish lyrics in Korean, in Romanized form, in Hindi and in a full English translation, so you can follow every line the way it was written and understand what it means. You will also find the official music video, complete song details, a look at the artists behind the track and answers to the questions fans are asking most.
The Song
Birthday Wish is built like a celebration that keeps catching on a sad thought. It opens with a spoken intro — "Let's celebrate, here lies a broken heart, rebooting into a new chapter" — before the beat bounces in and the girls start trading lines in Korean and English. The pre-chorus tightens the feeling: "You pull me with a strange rush, I'm already in love." Then the chorus opens up around the simplest of images, closing your eyes and making a wish while the pieces of a heart are gathered back together, one by one.
What makes the song stick is the contrast. The production is bright and playful, full of party sounds and chant-like hooks, yet the words keep returning to long nights, forgotten places and a heart that had to break before it could restart. As Muxic Leaks hears it, that mix of glitter and ache is exactly why Birthday Wish has become the most talked-about track on Strange Muse.
The Artists
NMIXX is a six-member girl group from JYP Entertainment, made up of Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo and Kyujin. Since their debut, the group has been known for fearless genre-blending — their signature MIXX POP style — and for some of the strongest live vocals in K-pop's fourth generation. Haewon, the leader, delivers the spoken intro that sets the scene for Birthday Wish, and the members pass the melody between them so smoothly that the song feels like one voice telling one story.
Strange Muse is NMIXX's sixth EP, and Birthday Wish sits at its centre as the title track. For a group that has built its name on surprising listeners, this record shows a softer, more reflective side without losing the energy that fills their stages.
Music Video
The official music video for Birthday Wish arrived with the EP on 19 October 2026 on JYP Entertainment's YouTube channels, and fans showed up in force: the video raced past 12 million views in its first two days, collecting more than 165,000 likes along the way. The visuals dress the song's idea up as a birthday party with a surreal twist — candles, celebration and dreamlike sets — while the six members deliver the sharp, playful choreography that has become an NMIXX signature. Birthday Wish Lyrics in Hindi
Here is the Birthday Wish lyrics in Hindi translation, written for listeners who want to feel every line in their own language. The birthday-wish theme comes through beautifully in Hindi — a broken heart put to rest, a candle lit, and one long-cherished wish for a new beginning.
Birthday Wish Lyrics with English Translation
The Birthday Wish lyrics English translation below renders the song's Korean lines in English, so the full story of the track comes through. The Korean title 긴 소원 means "a long-held wish", and every section — from the spoken intro to the final chorus — follows in order.
Lyrics Meaning in English
At its heart, Birthday Wish is a song about choosing yourself after heartbreak. The birthday in the title is not just a party — it is a ritual of renewal. NMIXX frame the end of a painful chapter as something to celebrate: the broken heart is "laid to rest", the past is rebooted, and a wish is made for whatever comes next. That is why the production sounds like a celebration even when the words sting.
The lyrics return again and again to images of gathering and wishing — closing your eyes, collecting the pieces of a heart one by one, blowing out a candle. Each image is about taking control of the story: instead of mourning what broke, the singer wishes her way into a new chapter. Lines about long nights and forgotten places admit the journey was lonely, but the repeated promise — "I will make an endless wish for you" — turns that loneliness into devotion, whether to a person or to a future self. On Muxic Leaks, this is one of those rare title tracks where the meaning lands harder the more you listen.
